Twenty members of the 38th Georgia Regiment are known to be buried at Thornrose Cemetery. Most, if not all, of the soldiers who died of disease or wounds while there, are buried at Thornrose Cemetery in Staunton. Staunton, Virginia was the site of a large Confederate General Hospital during the war.
